The Confucius Temple was built in 1302 during the Yuan Dynasty and expanded during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It features a series of halls and pavilions dedicated to Confucius and his disciples. Guozijian, located next to the Confucius Temple, was the national university where scholars studied for the imperial examinations.The site covers an area of 22,000 square meters and includes several important buildings, such as the Dacheng Hall (Hall of Great Achievement), the Apricot Altar, and the Imperial Academy.
Adjacent to the temple lies Guozijian, built in 1306, which functioned as the national highest educational institution and administrative hub for education during the three dynasties.

In Guozijian, don't miss the Jixian Gate, the main entrance to the Imperial Academy, the Yilun Hall, where lectures were given, and the Biyong Hall, a circular building where the emperor would give lectures to scholars.
